Lunapparel Accepted into Concessions 101 Program at DEN

Small Business to Join Nine-Week Training Program for Aspiring Concessionaires

I’m excited to announce that I’ve been accepted into the first cohort for Concessions 101 at Denver International Airport (DEN) through their Business Development Training Academy. There are 15 small businesses that will participate in a nine-week program to learn how to be a concessionaire at DEN Airport. All of the participating businesses in the academy must be certified as an ACDBE (Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise). This concessions pilot concourse project is part of the Airport’s Center of Equity and Excellence in Aviation, which demonstrates their commitment to having more disadvantaged small business owners as concessionaires at DEN. Denver International Airport is the 3rd busiest airport in North America and the 5th busiest airport in the world.

Lunapparel is proudly certified by the City & County of Denver as an SBE, SBEC, EBE, M/WBE business and has been certified as an ACDBE concessionaire since 2021. My business plan has included goals to position myself to have my Lunapparel business at the airport. It has taken some time to prepare myself with the tools and experience to be ready to scale up. A major part of my journey has included participating in wonderful small business programs such as SBDC – Leading Edge, OEDIT’s Access To Capital Training, NEWSED’s Business Basic Course, and having the opportunity to receive direct retail experience at The Zone Marketplace Incubator program located at 725 Santa Fe Drive, Denver, CO.

My team is honored to be a part of the generational legacy by having our fashion designs be a part of History Colorado’s Clothing and Textile collection.”
